Injuries are such a pain (figuratively and literally!). The pain in your leg sounds like something called "Shin Splints" - painful name too! It may be because you've been compensating for the ankle problem (or it may not!). Hope your doctor can help you find a resolution. Perhaps you will be referred to a physio for a bit of help.
