February 2013 Glossybox

Mixed opinion this month with my Glossybox. They didn't put the sheet in describing each item and I'm a wee bit miffed about that.

The box this month is a love theme. I'll come back to that theme and how the products fit in a minute.

The box itself was different to usual in design which was very nice.

The contents

I'll start with the negative bits so I can end on a positive note. Obviously the missing magazine sheet is not good because I do like to read what I've actually got. First up is Micabella Mineral Blush in Terracotta. It's a fine powder blush with a high pigment. The photo doesn't show just how orange it is. I looked like one of those teenage oompaloompa girls who have applied too much fake tan with just a tiny bit of this product. It's going to my craft cupboard to make into a shimmer spray for my scrapbook pages.

Next up a lipstick from Helen E Cosmetics in Dusk shade. It's a very dark burgundy. Not something I will use so I've left it in its wrapping and will have a little giveaway from all the comments on this post. I'll draw it at random on 1st March.

Having looked at what other people got I am quite disappointed to receive this shade. The lighter neutral shades are so much more me.

Next up is MeMeMe Beat The Blues iridescent complexion illuminator and highlighter in Oyster Gold.

I'm undecided on this. A bit too sparkly for me but I will give it a go and if not my daughter will use it.

Q Radiance body spray. It's a body spray that smells nice and seems long lasting. Not much else to say really.

Doctor Renaud Raspberry Soft Cream. My first impression of this wasn't too good because it is highly scented and raspberry isn't one of my favourite fragrances. However I tried it this morning and it isn't quite so overpowering as I thought but has just enough to keep getting a drift of it every so often. The face cream itself is quite thick and definitely a less is more kind of product.

Bonus item of a heart shaped lollipop. I might give this to my husband tomorrow for valentines.

In so far as they fit into the love theme - obviously the lollipop does, the raspberry face cream yes and maybe the deep red/burgundy of the lipstick but to be honest I can't see how an orange blush, a highlighter and a body spray fit the theme.

It's difficult to say honestly what I think about the box without knowing anything about any of the products. I've no idea if I'm putting a £5 or £50 face cream on or whether the lipstick is a pound shop bargain or high end designer one.

Overall I'm disappointed with the make up but like the face cream and body spray.

Punky Scraps #60

It's the 10th so that means it is Punky Scraps challenge day.

For full details of the challenge please pop over to the blog where you can see tons of inspiration.

Here is my take on the challenge:

It's my first time using glass beads texture gel and I have to say I really like it.  I tried to get a close up of the glinting beads on the second photo.

It's the first time I've scrapped this year and my husband did ask if I was getting into the Damien Hirst style so I'm guessing it is a bit different to the last layout he saw lol
