Two Completed Socks & Something Different

I went back to a couple of unfinished socks recently who must have been feeling lonely without a partner.

These are Rogue Roses from the March Rockin Sock Club shipment

and these are Sock Knitters Pentathlon Olympic Socks which I started in November last year (ouch)

I also decided this morning to have a break from socks for a bit. I stumbled across this pattern - STEGGY in Knitty. My son didn't need asking twice if he wanted me to make it. Yarn shops here aren't too well stocked in anything other than acrylic double knit (worsted) so finding something in aran/chunky dinosaur colours was virtually impossible. We found this multi coloured yarn which is 100% yucky acrylic but it also means it is machine washable and it was a bargain 99p for 100g and we needed a lot of balls. Progress so far in a couple of hours is reasonable and it makes a welcome relief to knit with something bigger than 2.25mm needles and 4ply.
