Road Tripping

Been on a bit of a road (and sea) trip to the Isle of Wight. It was a blustery few days but enjoyable all the same.

Here are a few pics of our time there. A bit out of order because blogger is having a funny turn.

Me having a paddle at Sandown
This is about as good as it gets when you are trying to get pics of teenagers. We definitely don't do posing anymore.
This was the ferry home. Think it must have been sponsored by Ikea.

Red Eagle ferry there

The Needles. We went there for the sunset but a big bank of cloud prevented us from seeing anything. There was an amusement park there but it was all closed up for the night. It was a bit spooky - kind of like Scooby Doo. There were also 100 and something steps down to the beach according to a sign and that was my original vantage point for the sunset looking onto the needles. The tide was in though so there wasn't much point going down.

A hovercraft at Ryde on it's way back to the mainland.

All I can say is thank goodness our car wasn't one of those. It doesn't look it from the picture but it was a very blustery crossing and those cars were wobbling about all over the place. The captain said it was gale force.
