Learning

This week a hot air balloon flew over our house. I don't believe I've ever seen one so close before and certainly never at home.

Yesterday saw the start of Learn Something New Everyday and was also the last day of the school holidays for my little man. We had a nice drive out to a local stately home and with the class in mind my lesson learnt was to enjoy nature.

Today my lesson was that cakes can come in extra super size. We went to a local pub for lunch and my mouth must have been somewhere down near the floor when I saw the cakes on display. I didn't have the camera so have pinched this photo off the pub website.

Next time I might actually have some and will definitely take my camera.

Tomorrow a post about numbers

Wow, mega-cakes... droool...

The balloon pics are great. We had a balloon come down in the field at the end of our road. It went over the house-tops across the road and was so low it touched one of the chimneys. All the kids in the whole area appeared, running to the field. The balloonists were surrounded by a crowd of kids going "Oooh" and "Ahhh" as they landed! Mind you, the grown-ups joined in too. It was really quite exciting!
And last year, one of J's school teachers retired. The school bought her a balloon trip as a gift. It took off from the playing field and went over the village. We stood in our garden and took photos - we could see her waving back to us!
Your DS looks cute in that woodland photo. I love his hat.

It must be the latest way of 'driving' those things. We had one touching our chimney the other day. The man leant out and shouted:"Where am I".
I felt facetious and answered: "Up in a balloon."
I had read this in the Guardian ages ago, and felt really chuffed that finally I could actually use this :-)

I wonder about red virgins flying the skies, is that the kind they promise 64 of to suicide bombers?

Those cakes look luscious!

Great shot of the balloon. It's on my Bucket List to ride in one before I "kick the bucket".

The cakes have me drooling on my keyboard, and your little man is darling too.
