mainly Johnny & Jermaine. Yep the second day into the J fortnight and goals by Jonathan Howson and Jermaine Beckford sent Leeds United jumping into the Championship.
This is Jermaine Beckford after his goal with Johnny in the background
This is Johnny celebrating after the match had ended
My 2 J's were very happy.
Goodness knows why Jack insists on the gurning pose on every pic but a pic is a pic when all you want to do is hide from the camera.
Also for Leeds United is Jason Crowe who has been injured so this is an old shot when Jenna met him last august
We also went on a journey to the seaside
Others J's we have done are
eaten - Jelly, Jacket Potatoes & Jalapenos (not all together)
Just realised I haven't blogged H & I in my journey through the alphabet.
These were two of the hardest so far.
For H we
had a hole cut in the roof of our house
the builder put his foot through and made a hole in a bedroom ceiling
had school holidays
saw some heather
harvested crops on farmville
ate haribo, hedgehog bread, houmous, hot dogs, habanero chilli peanuts
walked up a hill
My little one chose a lovely H word - hugs which was very nice.
Leeds United player is Johnny Howson
I found the Hipstamtic app for my iphone. This is my absolutely favourite app so far. It is a camera but retro style. This is one of the pics I took during H before I knew there were different films and lenses but more about those later.
and as always a Chili Peppers contribution. This H is Hump de Bump.
Then onto I. This was definitely hard.
I had planned to go to Ikea but it never happened. We ate icecream and iced gems. I listened to my ipod and used my iphone. I changed the ink in the printer. The builders were using insulation.
and Chili Peppers input is I Could Have Lied which is right up there in my top 5 of their songs.
Just realised I am mega late with G since it ran from 26th March to 8th April which was well over a week ago.
Anyway my girl turned 18
my boy broke his glasses
the kids played on guitar hero
we went on green grass with a giddy dog
the builders brought girders
see those tiny white balls? They are from a neighbours' bean bag that they put out with the rubbish and it split all over the street.
I got lovely gifts in the post from Brenda and Nicole. Some Galaxy hot chocolate from Brenda and a G bookmark from Nicole.
On the football front I couldn't let G go by without a mention of Simon Grayson the manager of Leeds United. Hopefully he will get them promoted this season even if it is the hard way through the playoffs.
I will admit straightaway that I struggled a bit finding things to do during the E fortnight which finished on thursday. Onto F from yesterday which is slightly easier.
Main one was ENT (ear nose and throat) clinic where they decided my son needs his tonsils out whenever his name comes up on the waiting list. Fingers crossed it will stop the massive number of ear infections and tonsillitis he has been plagued with most of his life.
I read my Elizabeth Elgin book I mentioned in a previous blog post.
We had enchiladas and I had a clearout of my wardrobe and sold a few items on Ebay.
No pictures though I'm afraid apart from this one of Daisy's ears
My reading for E was an easy choice once I got to the library. Elizabeth Elgin. This is an author who has written lots of fantastic books. They are mainly about women in the second world war and make fantastic reading. There is a series of books all about a girl who is a servant for a family called the Suttons. I read them several years ago and am now on the lookout on ebay to try and purchase the full set of the series and reread them. I highly recommend this series.
She has also written several other novels and my current reading is Turn Left At The Daffodils. This is her last novel and from what I understand by reading the notes she actually died before she finished it so her family finished it for her.
For a recap of what the A-Z year long challenge is please see this site
For D we did a few things
First of all double d which is Daisy Dog having a sniff at the remains of a snowman
Driving in dense fog
Looking around the 'dorms' at uni
We had quite a few desserts. This one is Key Lime Pie from the Hairy Bikers recipe made with Oreos on the base.
Diggers from the roadworks the other day
Daffodils
and I dyed my hair much darker than it was before
We also ate double chocolate icecream, donuts, watched Dancing on Ice, daddy got drunk, had Dr Pepper (yuk), my dad joined facebook.
My poor little man had a trip to the doctors yet again for poorly ears and ended up with double strength medicine.
Leeds United players with D words are Michael Doyle and Davide Somme.
Now onto music - as always Red Hot Chili Peppers and the tracks I have picked for D are
Dani California and
Desecration Smile. This is my favourite video they have ever made (well maybe with the exception of Road Trippin) and definitely in my top 5 of their songs.
First of all are my layouts for A and B. I have a 6x12 album for this project. It's the first time I've done anything this size and really enjoyed experimenting.
I found lots of things for C.
My reading was The C Words by Mark Mason. I didn't get enough time to finish it so I think I will skip reading a book for D and get this one done instead.
I found a fab blog called Country Heart & Home where I tried Country Cottage Pie, Cherry & Coconut Bake and tonight I am going to try Vegetable Cobbler. I managed to get a piccie of the Cherry & Coconut Bake.
I made a variation of it a few days later but without the chocolate base and used white caster sugar instead of brown and it was a lot lighter and not as rich.
We had chillis, carrot & coriander soup and my son made a cake at school
Leeds played Carlisle in the Cup where Casper Ankergren was a key part when the game went to penalties.
I also discovered another very inspiring blog written by an exremely talented lady - KrisKnits. She designs patterns for knitted cloths. Now this isn't something I really need or would want to use for cleaning BUT she is kindly organising a Knit A Long each month where she releases a pattern for free. Each cloth will feature a design relevant to the month and I thought I would make them and stitch them together to make either a blanket or wall hanging or whatever I decide come December. The first one was a snowman. I don't know if you can make out the design.
and my Red Hot Chili Peppers C words are Chad Smith and Californication (aswell as Charlie from yesterday).
We have a new bridge that was the subject of a Channel 4 programme in 2008 fronted by Kevin McCloud. Being right at the other end of town it isn't something I have ever really been to before. The rest of the family has but not me for some reason. I thought it would be nice this morning to have a walk down there with the dogs and finally walk across it.
I also discovered a new challenge yesterday called 52 Walks In 2010. It just means to take your camera on 52 walks over the year and photograph where you have been. I've decided that my first walk can be the first week of this month when it was snowing. The pictures from that are in the posts at the beginning of the month.
Today is Walk 2 with my camera. The sun was in a strange place which made some pictures turn out with shadows but never mind.
The dogs were really unsure of the rushing water under their feet.
This boat wreck apparently caused huge problems during construction of the bridge.
This is one of the benches that adorn the middle of the bridge.
Now we move on to the B Factor at Leeds United. There are a few players qualifying for the B fortnight and it just so happens that they are the more 'photogenic' ones.
First up is Luciano Becchio who is frequently referred to in this house as beautiful. The kids were over the moon to have their picture taken with him earlier in the season.
Next up is Bradley Johnson.
The one and only Jermaine Beckford
Local lad Ben Parker. Yikes this pic makes me realise how much my son's hair has grown.
It's down to his shoulders now. Pic was taken in May.
and last but by no means least is Leigh Bromby.
To end the B's I have some music that is not the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Black Eyed Peas and Boom Boom Pow.
